Identity. Community. Growth. Bender, director of asset management for NU, is charged with overseeing the implementation of a capital construction program to update and transform key buildings and outdated infrastructure.

“A year ago, we reviewed our campus Master Plan and conducted an audit of our facilities as part of the University’s restructuring,” Northwood President Keith Pretty said.

Identity, community, and growth are the themes for the Plan and will be front and center as developers ensure the changes contribute to a strong sense of community at Northwood.

“The upgraded campus will allow for smart growth within a great physical environment for learning,” said Bender. “These changes will provide a framework for long-term development and usher in a new era of learning and education for Northwood.”

The May 2015 announcement of the 18-month process included investments such as construction of the Richard DeVos Graduate School of Management building, which is nearing completion, and improvements to the Bennett Sports Center, which were unveiled last fall.

“Alumni who visit the Bennett sports Center and DeVos building are absolutely amazed,” said Pretty. “That transformation is exactly what will happen with these additional projects.”
