For the third straight season and the 10th time in the last 11 years, the Northwood women’s tennis team claimed the GLIAC Championship. Northwood finished the fall season with a perfect 17-0 record. The Timberwolves also won the GLIAC Tournament title as well.
The accomplishments of the team also lead to several individual honors following the season. Senior Darina Berkova claimed the GLIAC Player of the Year award for the second time in her career. She went undefeated in singles, posting a 13-0 record at the No. 1 positions. Berkova was named First Team All-GLIAC for the fourth time in her career and also earned a GLIAC Commissioner’s Award. She was joined on the All-GLIAC teams by Nastya Puchkina (Second Team) and Anastasiia Kazub (Second Team).
By winning the GLIAC Championship, Northwood has earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament this spring.
