Northwood’s Values Emphasis Week 2018 was full of opportunities to be inspired, learn, volunteer, and reflect. And for the first time this year, Northwood alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends from all over the world were invited to participate in the new NU Day of Giving, a single-day global online fundraising event for Northwood University.

In this event, for 24 hours on Founders Day, donors were invited to help the young men and women who attend Northwood University develop into the executives and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

“We were so impressed by the number of alumni and friends who joined Values Emphasis Week through their online gifts. What really stood out from the day was the power of combined giving. When many people donate – no matter the amount – the outcome is huge. And we were fortunate to have several matching donors who encouraged others by adding to individual donations,” said Carmen Mittler, director of Annual Giving. “An unexpected plus was the way donors and students interacted with each other online in real time, strengthening the sense of community that makes Northwood special.”

The NU Day of Giving was a day of remarkable generosity and outreach. Donations of $4,840 nearly doubled the goal. The excitement around the day proved to be so infectious that even students joined alumni in making an impact.

For those who missed this year’s event, get ready for 2019. However, the opportunity to donate to Northwood isn’t limited to one day. For more information on how to donate, go to www.northwood.edu/gift or call Mittler at 989-837-4860.
